Cupressus sempervirens L.

 

Pianta sempreverde che può raggiungere un’altezza superiore a 20 m, ha forma snella e una chioma conica e affusolata, la ramificazione appressata è presente nelle specie domestiche. Le foglie sono squamiformi, lunghe pochi millimetri e ricoprono completamente i rami. Il cipresso ha fiori piccoli e poco visibili, con strutture riproduttive maschili e femminili fra loro separate. Il fusto robusto può raggiungere un diametro sino a 6 m, la ramificazione inizia dalla parte medio- bassa. Questa specie è molto diffusa nelle zone rurali anche come elemento ornamentale.

 

Cypress

This evergreen tree, can be up to 20 metres tall, has a slender shape, a cone-shaped, tapered crown and appressed branching. The leaves are a few millimetres long, scale-like and cover branches completely. The cypress has small, little visible flowers with separate male and female reproductive structures. The robust trunk can have a diameter of up to 6 metres, the ramification starts in the lower part. This species is widespread in the Italian countryside as an ornamental plant.
